SIX Followup

Peculiar objects from the SIX Survey can be uncovered by follow-up observations. Ideal instruments for follow-up observations are X-ray focusing telescopes. Their superb angular resolution and their excellent sensitivity allow characterizing the sources. An explanatory example is shown in the figure below where the SIX source (top) is followed-up with Chandra (bottom): the excellent imaging capabilities by Chandra allowed to discover a close pair of AGNs, which is seen as a single source in the top panel of the figure (coordinates in RA and Dec).
